Alta

Alta, referred to as a “skier’s mountain”, provides deep powder, epic terrain, and breathtaking views, making Alta a world class resort. Alta is a haven for incredible beginner and intermediate terrain.  Also, Alta does not allow other types of winter recreation other than skiing. It is only one of three areas in the United States that does not allow snowboarding. Alta officially opened as a ski area in the winter of 1938-39.  With the Alta/Snowbird “one ticket,” skiers have access to 4700 acres. Alta boasts a sustainability center whose mission is sustainability: to protect and improve the wellbeing of Alta’s environment, ski industry and community. Alta/Snowbird was voted the #1 resort in the U.S. by Skiing magazine for five years running.
