The U’s resident freeskiing superstar, Tom Wallisch, continued his torrent pace this season with a record-setting run in the Dew Tour freeski slopestyle event in Killington, Vermont. The 95.28 score Wallisch received in the final round’s second run was the highest recorded in Winter Dew Tour history, and it notched him his second straight win in the three-stop tour.
Wallisch won the Nike Open leg of the tour in Breckenridge with a 92.75. That and the Killington victory give Wallisch a 28-point lead (200-172) over Nick Goepper going into the final stage of the tour, which will be held here in Utah at Snowbasin Mountain, Feb. 10-12.
